I am presently looking to purchase a Sunday driver. Sold my boat and need a new toy. My dilemma is I live in a townhouse with a two car garage and have two daily drivers. Where will I store and work on my car? I have done many searches for storage facilities, none of them allow work to be performed - they are only intended to be storage. I want to be able to work on my car. When I find and purchase the car having the ability to service and maintain it is half the enjoyment of owning an antique performance car IMO. While doing my search I found the website Acumen Motorsport. I emailed Doug and got a quick response back and set up an appointment to view the facility. When I arrived at the facility in Morris IL, I was impressed. This is a newly constructed building built specifically for storage and maintaining performance or show cars. It is not only a place to store a car. It is a fully equipped automotive repair shop where the DIYer can maintain their car. It is a man cave for the car guy! There is a full kitchen with TV. Clean washrooms, large air compressors, car lift, tire changer and balancer, large tool box with standard hand tools. The place is spotless. Doug and his wife Patricia know the car performance world. Talking with them and hearing their back ground is impressive. I now need to find a car. I have a place to keep it. A side note to this facility. Doug and Herb Wyeth, a well-known Builder are building a Factory Five Cobra kit car in the shop. It is an impressive build. The location is convenient, located on Liberty St. walking distance to restaurants and bars to grab lunch and dinner after a day of working on my car.

The Grunnet’s are outstanding business owners: always responsive, ready to answer questions, and quick to offer practical solutions.
